ESYC-3206 - Patchwork Party (Ages 11-12) Aug 8-11
Course Description
This week is all about piecing together and sewing fabric scraps to create fun and funky patchwork designs. We will explore the basics of quilting, including how to measure fabric pieces, how to work with a pattern, how to attach fabric pieces to create a larger textile, how to attach quilt batting, and how to use a sewing pattern to turn patchwork fabric into a functional design. Some patchwork project possibilities include creating a funky personalized tote bag, a zipper pouch, wall hanging, or a small quilt. For a more challenging project, participants may choose to explore creating wearable patchwork items, such as a vest or jacket.
NSCAD Extended Studies camps include all materials. Early drop off and late pick up options available from 8:30am to 5:00pm at no additional cost.
NSCAD Extended Studies is happy to accommodate students with different learning needs. If your child has any developmental disabilities or mental health concerns that may affect their participation, please reach out to our staff at make@nscad.ca so a plan can be put in place in advance of camp.
