Course Description

Explore the magic of working with soft pastels. Highlighting historical and contemporary works participants will learn what projects are best illustrated with soft pastels. Through both still life and landscape compositions participants will learn how to prepare a background, rough sketching techniques and shading to create three-dimensional Illusions. We will experiment with different painting techniques, colour mixing, blending and other applications unique to this medium. Basic drawing skills recommended.
