ESYC-2206 - Lego Art: Brick by Brick (Ages 8-10) July 4-7
Course Description
In partnership with Playwell Bricks, this camp will explore the possibilities of LEGO art. Campers will translate their drawings in to LEGO mosaics, build LEGO models based on their own sculptures, and be a part of NSCAD's first ever LEGO big build! Students will have opportunities for free building as well as structured lessons to develop their skills and creativity.
NSCAD Extended Studies camps include all materials. Early drop off and late pick up options available from 8:30am to 5:00pm at no additional cost.
NSCAD Extended Studies is happy to accommodate students with different learning needs. If your child has any developmental disabilities or mental health concerns that may effect their participation, please reach out to our staff at make@nscad.ca so a plan can be put in place in advance of camp.
This class is open to painters of all levels and will focus on the technical challenges involved in painting landscape as well as introducing ways of thinking critically about the subject. We will cover a range of techniques allowing students to improve their understanding of perspective, colour, light, composition and space. Students will learn to work with acrylic paint, learn methods of painting from photos and drawings, and participate in group discussions of their work. We will also look at examples of work from prominent historic and contemporary artists.
