Course Description

This course will cover basic principles which can be used together to paint botanical subjects including sketching from observation, as well as a variety of watercolour techniques: wet-on-dry, wet-on-wet, glazing, negative painting, layering, and more. Carefully detailed renderings as well more free and flowing compositions will be explored, using both photo references and fresh plants as subjects. Students are expected to have some experience with watercolour painting.
