ESTX-0133 - Dye, Knit, Repeat: Making Winter Accessories with Hand-Dyed Yarn

Course Description

In this cozy course, you'll create your own custom yarns and use them to make cozy hand knits. We'll learn how to hand dye wool with a project-specific focus using acid dyes, then work through the steps to knit a warm winter accessory (or a few!) with your hand dyed skeins. Then, we'll set you up to knit a pair of socks using self-striping sock yarn that we will learn how to design and hand dye ourselves. This course is suitable for folks with little to no hand dyeing experience who are new knitters or confident beginners looking to build on their skills while adding new techniques to their skill sets. The knitting techniques we'll cover will be: casting on, working in the round, knit stitch, purl stitch, increases, decreases, german short rows, and finishing techniques.
