ESPN-0242 - Watercolour Painting: Gems and Geodes Online
Course Description
This course will cover essential watercolour principles for painting gems, jewels, and geodes, capturing the intricate beauty and vibrant colors of these fascinating subjects. Techniques such as wet-on-dry, wet-on-wet, glazing, negative painting, and layering will be included. We will explore the unique shapes, facets, and internal structures of various gemstones and geodes. From the mesmerizing swirls of agate to the dazzling facets of diamonds, students will learn to render the lustrous surfaces and complex patterns that make these subjects so captivating. Designed for students with some prior watercolour experience, this course aims to elevate their skills and creativity.
This course is hosted online. Live classes will be presented on Zoom and a link to the recurring meeting will be emailed to students ahead of the first class as well as being included on the course’s Brightspace home page. As such, students are required to have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access during class time. Access to a web camera and microphone is strongly recommended.
