ESTX-0126 - INKfinite Possibilities: Silk Screen Printing Patterns on Fabric
This course is designed for creative folks that love loud and bold patterns (clashing optional). Students will learn all the processes necessary to translate their drawings and ideas into fun and vibrant fabrics, from designing their own repeated patterns, to silk screen printing them using paper stencils. Focusing on techniques that don’t need an elaborate set up, the goal of this course is to inspire students to take their printing outside of our classroom and back home to their daily lives.

Pam Juarez is a textile artist, educator, and youth worker committed to employing intersectional and anti-oppressive approaches in both her community work and art practice. Her goal is to foster an understanding that creative expression is as important at our kitchen table as it is on a gallery wall. Pam has a BA from McGill University in Anthropology (2015), and graduated from NSCAD University with a BFA in Textiles and Fashion and a minor in Art History (2021). Her conviction in the potential for art to create community has led her to collaborate with various art organizations throughout Halifax including NSCAD's Art Factory, Wonder'neath, the MacPhee Centre for Creative Learning, and the Centre for Craft. Besides cultivating her work in weaving, print and fashion, Pam likes to spend hours taking care of her indoor jungle, and playing make believe in various Dungeons and Dragons campaigns.
