Course Description

This course is an exploration or comics and sequential art using a range of media outside traditional pen and paper methods. Students will gain and understanding of the foundational elements of comics and learn to incorporate them into new materials, structures, shapes to create comics that are textured, sculptural, and experimental. Comics made of light? Made of clay, or textiles? Comics as installation? As performance? Anything goes in this off-the-page class on innovative comic-making. Experience in comic making is recommended but not required.
